White and O’Byrne: September Showdown

12th June 2018

Labor Leader Rebecca White has confirmed that her failed pokies policy and leadership will be on the line at Labor’s State Conference.

The clock is now ticking to the September Showdown, when Ms White will face-off against leadership aspirant David O’Byrne.

We all know that Mr O’Byrne campaigned on a pro-pokies platform.

Then, on Election night Mr O’Byrne refused to support Ms White’s anti-pokies policy.

With Ms White wedded to her policy to ban-pokies, which she championed during the election campaign, will it be out with the policy and out with Ms White?

There is now no wonder why Labor delayed its State Conference by months – it was a desperate and calculated move to buy Ms White time to fight for her political survival.
