Tasmanian businesses prefer the Hodgman Liberal Government

4 February 2019

Tasmania continues to be a great place to do business, according to the latest Sensis Business Index for the December 2018 quarter.

The report confirms that for the sixth consecutive quarter, the Hodgman Liberal Government’s policies have been ranked the most popular in the nation among small and medium businesses.

This is a resounding endorsement of the Government’s long-term plan to support businesses and grow the economy and jobs in Tasmania, including through our record $2.6 billion infrastructure program.

The Sensis report also confirmed that our businesses are the most positive in their perceptions of Tasmania’s economy, and our businesses remain highly confident, including in our regional areas.

It’s no surprise that with the economy going from strength to strength, Tasmania’s employers are continuing to perform well in a number of key areas, including sales, access to finance, profitability, and capital expenditure.

These results are in stark contrast to what our businesses experienced under the previous Labor-Green Government, when two out of three business felt government’s policies actually worked against them.
