29 April 2019

Tasmania’s economy continues to perform strongly and has jumped into equal third best performing economy in the Nation according to CommSec’s State of the States report for April 2019, released today.

Tasmania is ranked first for population growth and equipment investment, and second for housing finance.

“When looking across the growth rates for the states and territories, Tasmania exceeded the national-average on six of the eight indicators,” the report states.

The Hodgman Liberal Government has a long-term plan to make Tasmania an even more attractive place to live, work and invest, and through our diligent work, we are now seeing the results.

Tasmania has come a long way since we came to office, but we know there is more work to be done.

The Hodgman Liberal Government is committed to delivering on our plan for a strong economy which allows for even more investment in infrastructure and services our growing state needs.
