McKim rips up the forest deal

Nick McKim’s stated intention to seek to unwind the so-called “durability” clauses in the job-destroying peace deal is more than just “grand-standing”, it proves that the deal has failed

It’s a bit rich for Mr McKim to run around bleating about us saying we will rip up the disastrous forest deal, when he is doing it himself.

We said at the time that even though Mr McKim and the Greens voted for the Deal, they would never be bound by it and would start campaigning for further lock-ups.

We have been proved correct.

Mr McKim’s move proves what we have said all along - the so-called peace deal will fail because the Greens will always want more.

And they’ll get it if Labor and the Greens are re-elected to form another minority government at the March 15 election.
