With Labor’s humiliating forestry back down there is now no reason why the job destroying forestry deal shouldn’t be torn up completely.
Today’s decision confirms that Labor has been trying to blackmail the community into accepting the forestry deal.
As we have argued, Tasmania is entitled to its fair share of regional development funding and the funding should never have been made contingent on shutting down the forestry industry.
If Labor had any integrity, they would now tear up the entire disastrous forestry deal.
Labor is in such a shambolic mess that not even the Premier knew about the decision until after it was announced.
Only the Liberals have a plan to grow forestry and create desperately needed jobs.
