It’s time Bryan Green started listening to the community on forestry, rather than the Greens

Tuesday 10 September 2013

The massive voter backlash against Labor and the Greens, particularly in Lyons where there was a 13.5% swing, is a clear reflection of the strong community sentiment against the job destroying forest deal.

We said before the election that it was a referendum on the forest deal, and the people have spoken.

There is now a clear mandate to undo the terrible damage done by Labor and the Greens to regional communities by this disastrous deal.

The state government must respect the verdict of Tasmanians at the ballot box, abandon the job-destroying forest deal, and commit to working with the new federal government to rebuild the forest industry and our regional communities.
