Giddings hopelessly confused over the Greens

Lara Giddings is hopelessly confused and floundering over the Greens.

Just seven months ago, at the Property Council debate on 20th March, Ms Giddings confirmed she would do another deal with the Greens:

Alex Johnston: Would it be the same arrangement, would you have Greens in Cabinet?

Lara Giddings: Absolutely!...

Yet today, on Leon Compton ABC 936, Ms Giddings tried to pretend she hadn’t said it, and it was all a media conspiracy.

Compton: Will you renew the pledge that you would form minority government if the chance comes up again with the Greens?

Giddings: Leon, I’ve actually never said that, that’s what the media…

There’s no doubt that Ms Giddings will now try and manufacture a split with the Greens in a desperate effort to save her own political skin.

But it doesn’t matter how much crab-walking the Premier does, everybody knows, just as she said in March, that Labor will do another deal with the Greens after the next election, given half a chance.

The only way to get the strong, stable majority Government Tasmania needs is to vote Liberal.
