Budget 2019

The 2019-20 Budget media lock up will be held on Budget Day, Thursday 23 May 2019, in the Premier's Reception Room, 11th floor, 15 Murray St, Hobart.

The lock up will commence at 9.30am and conclude when the Treasurer, Peter Gutwein, gets to his feet in the House of Assembly to deliver his Budget speech. This is expected to be at approximately 3:00pm.

During the lock up Treasury staff will be on hand to assist with questions.

An embargoed media conference with the Premier and the Treasurer will be held at 1.30pm in the Media Conference Room in the Executive Building.

Once media personnel enter the lock up they will not be permitted to leave until the Treasurer commences his Budget speech in the House of Assembly.

No communication devices, such as mobile phones, will be allowed in the lock up. All laptops and other computer devices will be required to remove all internal data connectivity prior to entering the lock-up.

All media are expected to comply with the clear intention of the lock-up and not make any communication via email or any other electronic form during the stipulated period.

Any breach will result in removal from the lock up and future bans for the relevant media organisations.

Morning tea, a light lunch and refreshments will be provided.

For planning purposes, the Tasmanian Government Communications Office needs to know who wishes to attend the lock up by no later than Monday 20 May 2019.
